Slick 10 - Multi-View

With Slick Multi-View you can create some new styles of effects not possible before in iMovie. Multi-View works similar to the Scale and Crop effect - you select a certain area of a clip, scale it, and reposition it to a different location. As the name implies, you can add multiple copies of the image, and have them appear and fade in and out at different times. And all the views stay synchronized.

  • Click on a View on the right side. When a View is highlighted, it is the active View.
  • To crop a View, drag corners of the green box to set the cropping area. The clip can also be scaled using the Scaling slider.
  • To reposition the now-cropped View, click and drag inside the yellow box, but outside the green box.
  • A View can also be made to fill the entire screen by clicking on the Full Screen icon.
  • To set the entry and exit points, drag on the triangles timeline to the desired point.
  • The Fade in/out checkbox gently fades the View at the beginning and ending of the entry and exit points.
  • Create a new View by clicking on the ã+ä icon. Scale and crop as desired. If a View is higher in the list of Views, it will appear on top of other Views if they are overlapping.
  • To change the order of a View in the View List, select the View name and click on the Move Up or Move Down icons in the lower right corner.
  • To remove a View, select the View file name and click on the ã-ã icon.
  • Views can also be aligned to each other. Shift-click on the View names in the list of Views. Then click on the desired alignment option.
  • When multiple Views are selected, they can also be repositioned together.
