Slick 10 - Scale & Crop
The Scale & Crop effect lets you select
a certain area of a clip, scale it, and reposition it to a different
location.
- To scale a clip, move the Scaling slider.
The image quality degrades as the image gets scaled beyond 100% of
the original size, so there is a tradeoff when enlarging the image.
- To reposition the area to be displayed, click
and drag inside the yellow box.
- To crop a clip, drag corners of the green
box to set the cropping area. The clip can also be scaled using the
Scaling slider. The Cropping setting should be set to Freeform.
- To reposition the now-cropped image, click
and drag inside the yellow box, but outside the green box.
- The space outside the green box, but inside
the full frame, will be the background color when the effect is applied.
Click on the Background color box to set the background color.
There are also several cropping presets for
some popular formats. The cropping area is locked for these presets,
but the clip can be scaled and repositioned. Use Freeform cropping to
change the cropping area.
