Slick 10 - Variations

Fine tuning colors is often a guessing game for folks not used to working with color sliders. The Variations effect produces a thumbnail of how a change will look before you change a color or brightness setting.

This is a goal-oriented approach to color correction. In one view you can see 8 variations of the clip. Click on the thumbnail to get to the closer to the desired results. Repeat until you are satisfied with the changes, or press the Reset button to get back to the original settings.

To use this plug-in:

• Select a clip on the timeline, choose Variations from the list of effects and press the Configure button.
• Set the adjustment parameters, and click the OK button.
• In the main iMovie window click on the Apply button and the clip will be updated.
