| Slick 8 Effects Slick Stabilize Take the shakes and jitters out of your video with Slick Stabilize. This iMovie plug-in steadies your video with sophisticated image processing algorithms. But we make it simple with just a few controls. This software works in two passes. In the first pass,
each frame is examined to find the common elements to keep steady. To
remove the shake, the Stabilize software determines how the video image
needs to be moved so that the object appear steady. So instead of the
objects shaking within the video, the video frame shakes around the
objects. In the second pass, the software adjusts the video according
to the movement determined in the first pass. Because there are two
passes, no preview is available with this plug-in. The Camera slider sets the shift of the camera from the first frame. If set all the way to Fixed, it will try to keep the objects in the first frame at the same position throughout the clip. To remove the shake, the video image is moved so that the object appear steady. So instead of the objects shaking within the video, the video frame shakes around the objects. An artifact of the shake removal process is that there will be black edges around the video. There are two ways to address this. The Scaling slider will enlarge the video so that it fills the full frame. Most of the time a mid-point on this slider will do the job. Going all the way to fully Adaptive can make things look like they are zooming in/out too quickly. |
